I believe that if you focus on taking things one step at a time, you’ll eventually get to your destination. Then once you get there – you move on to something else, not necessarily good or bad, but onto something else. That’s life, for me at least. I learned to accept it. Here are 9 short term goals that I try to achieve on a daily basis:
- Today, I will be happy. I take Abraham Lincoln’s advice that “most folks are just about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
- Today, I will try to adjust myself to what is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires.
- Today, I will take care of my body.
- Today, I will strengthen my mind. I will learn something useful.
- Today, I will remind myself that there’s a higher being responsible for everything.
- Today, I will be agreeable. Look well, talk low, act courteously, be liberal with praise, will not criticize nor find fault.
- Today, I will live through this day only, not to tackle my whole life problem at once.
- Today, I will find a quiet time and be by myself for at least 5 minutes to relax and rejuvenate.
- Today, I will not be afraid to be happy. To enjoy what is beautiful, to love, and to believe that those I love, love me.
